-ESP: KIDS WALKING CLUB
In this ESP Health Resource Program, sixty pedometers were purchased and donated to Fairmoor Elementary School in an effort to encourage students to move more and Esthetically Shed Pounds. A walking club was started at recess for those students wanting to participate. Students were instructed on the benefits of moving more and were encouraged to increase the number of steps they took each day. Students kept a walking log to record the number of steps they took each day. Students in the walking Club had opportunities to win rewards for remaining in the club and increasing the total number of steps taken each week. An ESP Mental Health Workshop will be presented to our Beautillion high school students. It will cover topics such as: sex, drugs, HIV, AIDS, alcohol, peer pressure, etc. An introduction was presented to the teenagers and their parents in September.
