CHAPTER HISTORY
The Centennial Pearls Interest Group was formed to provide service to the communities of the growing Greater Columbus area. Most members of the group were reclaimed and reactivated members within the sorority. On Saturday, May 24, 2008, Schylbea J. Hopkins, Great Lakes Regional Director, with the assistance of Barbara A. McKinzie, International President, chartered Psi Eta Omega Chapter. Psi Eta Omega Chapter holds the honor and the distinction of being the first graduate chapter to be chartered under the administration of Schylbea J. Hopkins. The ceremony and chartering celebration luncheon took place at the Holiday Inn Columbus-Worthington and the theme was "Sowing Seeds of Service." This memorable event was attended by members of surrounding chapters, fellow Greeks from other National Pan-Hellenic organizations, and friends and family of the 35 charter members of Psi Eta Omega Chapter. Members include Afrika Alsup, Patekka Banister, Candace Barnes, Sharma Brown, Ronette N. Burkes, Fatima Carter, Melinda Carter, Esq., Judith Cockrell, Monika Cooley, Lynnette D. Cosby, Tina Diggs, Rhonda J.W. Evans, Esq., Norma Fitz, Monique Hamilton, Shawntera Hardy, LeShel Hutchings, Esq., Sandra Jones, Sheila Kwarteng, Mysheika L. Williams, M.D., Lorielle Milbry, Candice Mims, Marlynn Mobley, Dana Davis Printup, Julie Ragland, Jacinta Robinson, Lynn Robinson, Deonca Shields, Del Charlene Simmons, Jocelyne Walker, Rosalind Watkins, Lisha West, Olympia Williams, Tasha Wilson and Tasha Wood. Lynn Chavers, Ph.D. was elected president during the first chapter meeting where Hopkins presided.
